BIOE 201 Introduction to Biological Systems in Engineering

The cell is the principal unit of the human body. Students will adopt an engineering perspective to explore how the cell works as a machine. The course will also introduce key concepts in engineering, and students will learn how to apply these concepts to understanding the basics of cellular biology.  Topics to be covered include cellular structure, formation, evolution, reproduction, DNA structure and basics of genetic engineering.  Prerequisite: BIOE 102 (3)
