Career and Internship Services
The Center for Career Services strives to aid graduate students in preparing for entering their professional fields or advancing their education further upon graduation. Career advisors are available to aid with employment exploration/searching, updating employment documentation, such as résumés and cover letters, and with interview practice. The Center also provides graduate students with the opportunity to receive assistance in developing their professional social media personae, as well as networking opportunities with experts in their fields.
There is not a graduate level academic requirement for internships; however, graduate students may receive credit for internships that are structured as Independent Study courses. Thus, engaging in internships provides a popular and helpful opportunity for graduate students to gain hands-on experience in their chosen field of study. Information on all types of internships and field experiences is readily available from both the Center for Career Services and a student’s department chair or program director.
