ENGR 218 Statistics for Engineers

An introduction to probability theory and statistical inference as needed in engineering applications. Topics will include discrete and continuous random variables, probability distributions, the central limit theorem, variance, distribution estimations, correlation, regression and hypothesis testing.  The course will also cover use of the R statistics software for statistical computing of realistic data sets. Prerequisite: MA 172 or MA 181. (3)
