IT 150 Concepts in Artificial Intelligence

This course introduces the increasingly important field of Artificial Intelligence (AI). The students will learn the basic principles, techniques, and applications of AI. In this course, students will get a basic introduction to the building blocks and components of artificial intelligence, learning about concepts like algorithms, machine learning, expert systems, neural networks, robotics, natural language processing, and computer vision. Students will also explore how AI is already being used, and begin to look at problem areas of AI, such as bias. The course will also examine AI’s impact on existing jobs, as well as its potential to create new career fields in the future. Students will leave the course with a solid understanding of what AI is, how it works, areas of caution, and what they can do with the technology.  Students must achieve a minimum grade of C. (3)
