What are scientific theories and scientific explanations? Does science develop through steady progress or in revolutionary leaps? How do cultural values and social and political factors influence the conduct of science? What is pseudo-science? What is technology? How can we assess the benefits and harms of technology? Are science and religion compatible or is conflict between the two inevitable?
