FLP 539 Correctional Psychology
Provides an overview of the basic principles and landmark cases relevant to the subfield of correctional psychology. Learn the role of psychologists in jails/prisons and the unique challenges to working in these settings with an emphasis on the classification, treatment, and management of incarcerated individuals including special populations (e.g., youth, transgender individuals, chronic self-injury and suicidality). Recommended prerequisite: FLP 501. (3)
