MUS 220 Advanced Music Theory
For the student continuing to study music theory, this course builds upon the Introduction to Music Theory Course. In this Advanced Theory Course, students will study intervals and their inversions, major scales and minor scales in all three forms, chords and inversions, harmonic progressions, roman numeral analysis and modulations. In addition, students will learn to harmonize melodies and realize chordal symbols. Students will also partake in ear training exercises. Prerequisite: MUS 120 or permission of instructor.
