TRS 210 Religion, Nature, and Human Flourishing

This course will explore how religious and spiritual traditions from diverse regions of the world understand "nature" and the ideal relationship between human beings and their environments. We will consider the effects of global warming and pollution on human flourishing and the role of religion in forming attitudes and practices related to social, economic, and environmental dimensions of sustainability. Students will engage in experiential learning as they reflect on the possibilities for mutual flourishing on a shared planet. Prerequisites: TRS 100 and EN 102. Liberal Arts Core Designation: Theology and Religious Studies (TRS), Depth in Faith and Reason (DF&R). (3)
