IT 223 Sophomore IT Seminar

This course starts the process of students looking at post-college options including working in technology for the government or industry and continuing education by going to graduate school. It provides the knowledge and skills to enable students to effectively evaluate the various career pathways in the fast-changing technology field, including awareness of current and future technology topics, certification requirements, and identification of career opportunities through guest speakers and site visits. The course focuses on the content and style of important documents including a resume, cover letter, request for a recommendation letter and a white paper. It also includes personal branding and the creation of a high-quality LinkedIn profile. Students must achieve a minimum grade of C. (1)
