AI 551 Using Generative AI Tools and Techniques

This course is designed to provide students with hands-on access to a variety of datasets and AI tools to enable them to design, configure, and evaluate their ethical use in developing use-inspired AI applications in their chosen domain. Students first examine the AI systems development life cycle taking note of specific steps such as requirements definition, data curation, tool selection, model training, user orientation, and continuous monitoring. Students obtain access to a variety of AI tools, both in the lab and on the cloud, and are guided to enable them to experiment with the development of use-inspired AI applications in their chosen domain. The final project is a comparison and critical evaluation of the pros and cons of each of the tools in their specific domain. Students must achieve a minimum grade of B-. Prerequisite: AI 531 with a minimum grade of B-. (3)
