COMM 200 Communication Theory

This course provides a foundational understanding of communication theories and their application in public relations and strategic communication. Students explore themes such as media and mass communication, interpersonal communication, audience behavior, persuasion, and critical perspectives. Through lectures, discussions, and assignments, students will critically analyze how these theories shape communication strategies, influence audience engagement, and address real-world challenges in public relations and strategic communication. Communication majors must earn a grade of C- or higher. Prerequisites: EN 101 and COMM 100 or instructor permission. (3)
