SLP 515 Counseling and Therapeutic Relationships in Speech-Language Pathology

Assessment and intervention outcomes rely on effective communication and authentic interaction skills. This course provides an in-depth opportunity to explore one’s own communication and interaction style and apply that to a multi-racial, linguistic and cultural community. Exploration of cultural humility and cultural relevance will be explored as well as bias. Building relationships will be explored using a socially just and equity-minded lens while incorporating intersectionality and principles of inclusion and belonging. Students must achieve a minimum grade of B. (3)
